Storytelling I : FREE Workshop

We begin our creative writing journey by introducing craft elements such as plot, character, story structure, characterization, point-of-view (POV), and dialogue. Understanding these craft elements will help guide our storytelling. We will also do writing exercises and read short fiction, nonfiction, and poetry to further explore how these craft elements are employed. In addition to our reading and writing exercises, each writer will be given the opportunity to have up to 5 written pages of their work critiqued by their workshop cohort. This workshop is in English. Participants should be able to write and discuss in the English language. (Workshop textbook Steering the Craft by Ursula K. Le Guin is not included in the workshop fee)

Workshop duration: 4 weeks, 2 hour sessions
When: Sundays, 6 September - 4 October/  16:00-18:00
Where: Novell Cafe, Kung Oscars väg 11, 211 42 and via Zoom

We will meet once a week for 4 weeks. Our first workshop will be at the Novell Cafe on Kung Oscars väg 11, 211 42 Malmö, and the rest of our workshops will be held online via Zoom. Complementary coffee (with free refills) and freshly baked pastry will be provided at our first meeting!

For writers who wish to join the workshop but are not in the Malmö area or will not be able to attend our first in-person meeting, you are also welcome to sign-up! An outline of our first meet-up and an introduction to your workshop cohort will be emailed to you after the first workshop has occurred. We can get to know you in our next meeting on Zoom.
